For students entering grades 4-8

Is Battleship pure luck or is there strategy involved with ship placement and guesses? Is it better to go first or second when playing tic-tac-toe? Is there a way to guarantee victory in Connect 4? In this class, students will examine various strategies—including using basic probability—when playing classic board games.

This class will be offered each week of summer school.  Each week's focus may vary based on the interests of the students. Students may also bring board games from home to share with the class.

If needed, students will be able to eat lunch in the beginning of our session.
