*This course is offered at 8:30am and 10:30am. 
 
Biology is the study of life. This course is designed to refresh your current living science knowledge and give you an overarching understanding of the high school level biology class you will be taking. The curriculum is set up so that each day you will leave with solid concrete understanding of biological information along with the skills that will help enhance your biology experience in the fall. This course is designed for students preparing to enter Biology in the fall and also students who have taken Biology and need remedial review before their next science course.

Topics will likely include, but may not be limited to:
� Characteristics of Life and Classification
� Biochemistry- with its connection to Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration
� Ecosystems, Energy Flow, & Human Impact
� Cells
� Homeostasis
� Evolution
 
*Students may take this course as: a preview of the course, a review of the course, or credit recovery.  If a student is taking this class as credit recovery, this summer school course will award .5 (one semester) credit to those who successfully pass the course and attend at least 23 of the 24 days. 
 
***This course can NOT be used for qualifying for honors or AP classes at Darien High School.
