For students entering grades 4-8

For students in grades 4-8 who are starting a new instrument in the fall. The Summer Band Headstart program is designed for students entering grades 4-8 who are looking to start playing in the band program in the upcoming school year. Players who are switching to a new instrument may also attend. The session will teach instrument basics, sound production, music notation along with some music theory and music history. Players will participate in a daily ensemble rehearsal as well as one group lesson each week in preparation for an end of summer concert.

*Students can register for the full 3 week session or for a single weekly option.

Multiple weeks recommended

 

Class will meet:
Monday-Friday 1:00-2:00 (Full Group)

Lesson Groups 2:00-3:00 (see schedule below)

 

●Mondays - Flutes

●Tuesdays - Clarinets and Saxophones

●Wednesdays - Trumpets and French Horns

●Thursdays - Trombones and Baritone Horns

●Fridays - Percussion

 

**If your student is registered for a class that ends at 12:30pm and needs care until 1pm when this class starts, please register for Lunch Bunch.
