VIRTUAL Class Description:
Mrs. Cruickshank and Mrs. Giron will run a workshop-style class with a mini lesson, guided practice, time for students to write independently, and then time to share out. Writers will engage with fiction, literary nonfiction, poetry, screenwriting, and some creative digital endeavors. This class is great for any student who wants to enrich their writing life and students who want a refresher of the basics. Students will meet using a live platform for 45 min-1 hour each day and use Google Classroom for materials.
This writing workshop is designed to help you discover and put into practice your own strategies for living a more creative life. Writers will explore poetry, memoir, and fiction in-depth through their own writing and that of published authors. Emphasis is placed on generating ideas, narrative style and voice, and original thinking. Students will also analyze written texts, participate in workshops, and, if interested, explore opportunities for publication.
