Middle School Reading/Writing Workshop
(Entering grades 6 - 8)
**This class is available at 8:30am or 10:30am.
Throughout this course, students will engage in reading, discussion, and writing across diverse mediums. This includes dedicated time to complete summer reading assignments. Additionally, targeted mini-lessons will cover summer reading expectations and parts of core middle school English Language Arts curriculum. Each week will feature a distinct creative focus, allowing students to explore areas such as creative writing, debate discourse and structure, short films, poetry, and grammar.
The skill-focused activities, discussions, and reading/writing strategies practiced will strengthen student literacy skills and cultivate an appreciation for the subject. While the class emphasizes essential ELA competencies, Fridays will be reserved for engaging read-alouds, creative projects, and educational games!
