Darien Summer Band Instrument Lessons
Entering grades 4-12
Students enrolling will select 1 half hour lesson slot per week for the 5 weeks. All lessons will be on Mondays between 1:00-4:00. If time slots fill up, additional days/times will be offered as enrollment increases. After registering, please contact Mr. Knecht to coordinate your lesson time (jknecht@darienps.org).
The Summer Band Instrument Lessons program is designed for students entering grades 4-12 who are looking to start playing in the band program in the upcoming school year. Players who are switching to a new instrument may also attend. The session will teach instrument basics, sound production, music notation along with some applicable music theory. Students need to have their own instrument and the Standard of Excellence Book 1.
High school and middle school students who wish to prepare for the CMEA All-State and Regional Auditions can also sign-up for a time slot and can get private instruction in preparation for the Audition festival in the Fall/Winter. Students should get the required music for the auditions prior to the first lesson.
Cost: $325 (one lesson per week for 5 weeks)
