Write Like a Journalist: News, Features, and Opinion (Rdg & Wrtg) 
Entering Grades 4-6
In this course, students will explore how journalists inform and persuade real audiences. Using mentor texts, interviews, and research, students will write news articles, feature stories, and opinion pieces on various topics.
The course emphasizes reading comprehension of informational texts, vocabulary development, and the full writing process. Students will plan, draft, revise, edit, and publish a weekly student-created newsletter, gaining experience with editing, collaboration, and writing for a real audience.
Devices are preferred for research, writing, editing, and publishing the newsletter.
